History

  • 2019

    Paged LabTech founded as the R&D centre of the PAGED Group.

  • 2021-2022

    Delivery of EU-funded research and development projects, including:

    • innovative wood-based panels
    • composite materials for transport
    • furniture with enhanced resistance
    • low-emission solutions
  • 2023

    Development of product innovations (incl. Paged DryGuard, Paged GreenPly, Paged MouldGuard) and team capabilities. Opening of a new headquarters and research infrastructure.

  • 2024-2025

    Portfolio expansion with further solutions (incl. Paged StringPly, Paged DesignPly, Paged DryGuard FR) and development of research infrastructure.

Research and capabilities

Nine areas of research.

We carry out dozens of test types, covering the mechanical, physical, chemical and functional properties of materials.

Strength and mechanical properties

Material behaviour under load: bending strength with modulus of elasticity, compression, shear and tension. Used in quality control and the design of structural solutions.

Fire performance and fire safety

Advanced flammability testing, including cone calorimetry: heat release, smoke production, time to ignition and combustion behaviour. Used in transport (railways, maritime) and construction.

Bond quality and joint durability

Analysis of adhesive bond strength in dry, humid and exterior conditions - assessing product durability and standards compliance.

Emissions and environmental safety

Formaldehyde emission testing by gas and chamber methods - assessing the impact of materials on air quality and user health. Key for the furniture, construction and interior fit-out sectors.

Resistance to environmental conditions

Resistance to moisture, water, UV radiation and changing weather, including accelerated QUV ageing and natural exposure testing.

Coatings and finishes

Durability of varnishes, laminates and coatings: abrasion resistance (Taber test), colour and gloss stability, resistance to surface degradation.

Physical properties of materials

Analysis of density, moisture content, water absorption (including edge absorption) and swelling - predicting material behaviour in service.

Materials and chemistry

Expertise in adhesives and their optimisation, chemical composition and material compatibility.

Prototyping and implementation

Manufacturing prototypes at semi-technical scale - a fast transition from research to implementation testing.
